| Description |
English: La région de Campeche a été découverte dès 1517, lors de la première expédition espagnole. En 1540, un port y est fondé et de là sont exportés sel, cire, miel et bois. La contrebande sévit bientôt relayée par les attaques des pirates. Le roi d'Espagne décide alors de fortifier la ville en 1686. Campeche est aujourd'hui la dernière ville fortifiée du Mexique. |
