En 1866, Camille Féron-Vrau abandonne ses activités médicales pour seconder son beau frère Philibert Vrau dans la direction de l'entreprise de textile Vrau où se fabrique le ' “Fil Au Chinois„. Tous deux s'engagent notamment, dans des œuvres caritatives chrétiennes, le financement de la construction d'établissements catholiques d'enseignement supérieur et de celui de la presse conservatrice, voire antisémite et anti dreyfusarde (le Journal La Croix de l'époque, Le Lillois).
