Description
English: Camellias in the Amphitheatre. Mount Edgcumbe Park is home to the National Camellia Collection and hosts around 1,000 varieties. Many of these are planted in the higher reaches of The Amphitheatre, an steep easterly facing coombe with mature deciduous trees, sheltered from westerly winds, an ideal environment for these early flowering plants. Here are some close up photos of the blossom: 347682, 347685, 347687.
