Summary
[edit]DescriptionCambodia 08 - 007 - Killing Fields memorial (3199485756).jpg |
The memorial stupa at Choeung Ek one of the most famous of the Khymer Rouge "Killing Fields". It is filled with more than 5000 human skulls and remains in testiment of the horrific practices of the regime that killed a recorded 17,000 people at this site alone and an estimate 1.5million across the country. There are no accounts of even a single person escaping execution from this field near Phnom Penh. It is not an easy site to visit or to see, but I am very glad I did. |
