English: California Army National Guard's 40th Military Police Company from Los Alamitos and under the 49th Military Police Brigade stands at the ready to step in as the security element for the state's Home Response Force. As part of the 2011 Arizona Statewide/Vigilant Guard Exercise held Nov. 3-5, the 49th Military Police Brigade is being validated to become Federal Emergency Management Agency's Region IX HRF. The exercise was designed to enhance disaster preparedness of National Guard forces, emergency management agencies and local authorities and is a collaboration of California's members along with National Guard forces from Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Utah.
