English: California Army National Guard Sgt. Cody Weaver, a crew chief with Charlie Company, 1-168th General Support Aviation Battalion, embraces his sons, 2-year-old Carson and 4-month-old Wyatt, moments after his plane's arrival in Sacramento on Feb. 16. Family, friends and news crews gathered to witness Wyatt meeting his father for the first time and welcome Weaver home from his yearlong mobilization in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During a nine-month tour in Afghanistan, more than 100 Charlie Company soldiers from California, Nevada and Washington provided aerial medical evacuation support throughout Regional Command-West and RC-Southwest. All told, the team logged more than 3,000 flight hours and 683 medical evacuation missions and transported 730 patients. |
