Italiano: Lo strumento è composto da due astine metalliche a sezione rettangolare. Una delle due è internamente cava così che l'altra, di sezione leggermente minore e di lunghezza più corta, può scorrere liberamente al suo interno. Entrambe le astine portano all'estremità libera comune una piccola piattina metallica saldata perpendicolarmente all'asse principale. Questi indicatori consentivano di ottenere con immediatezza e relativa facilità la misura di spessori, funzione per la quale era pensato lo strumento Sulla superficie di entrambe le aste sono incise alcune scale graduate che consentivano di effettuare la misura secondo gli standard francesi, inglesi, austriaci e internazionali. |
