| Description |
Français : Jusqu’ au début des années 1990, le Quai du Gabut qui servait aussi de cale était utilisé par les marins-pêcheurs et les professionnels de l’ industrie nautique pour y déposer du matétiel. Puis, la cale ne servant plus, elle est devenue une sorte d’ espace vert, l’ herbe poussant entre les pavés. Tout le long de ce quai avec une cale, du côté rue, des terrasses de café en bois ont été construites et du côté Bassin des Yachts, un ponton flottant (mesurant aussi toute la longueur du quai) a été installé. Maintenant, c’ est à ce ponton que sont amarrés les bateaux (qui sont uniquement de plaisance). Dans les années 1960, au Quai du Gabut étaient amarrés les deux chalands qui servaient à récupérer la vase extraite de l’ avant-port par une drague. Cette drague est maintenant classée Monument Historique et conservée au Musée Maritime de La Rochelle.
