Deutsch: Block aus dunklem Cephalopodenkalk mit etlichen Goniatiten der Gattung Manticoceras und mindestens einem Orthoceraten, Oberdevon (Frasnium) der Gegend von Erfoud (östlicher Antiatlas), Marokko, ausgestellt im Musée d’histoire naturelle de Lille, Département Nord, Frankreich. Die Kopffüßergehäuse sind als Steinkerne erhalten, die nach der Entfernung der umgebenden Kalksteinmatrix poliert wurden um deren innere Strukturen besser sichtbar zu machen. Deshalb glänzen sie so stark im Vergleich zum Matrixgestein.

English: Block of dark cephalopod limestone containing numerous goniatites of the genus Manticoceras and at least one orthocerate, Upper Devonian (Frasnian) of the Erfoud area (eastern Anti-Atlas), Morocco, exhibit in the Musée d’histoire naturelle de Lille, Département Nord, France. The cephalopod shells are preserved as internal molds which are polished after removal of the surrounding limestone matrix in order to enhance the visibility of their internal structures. This is why they look so shiny in comparison to the matrix rock.
