Cahir Castle grooves

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Grooves at the portcullis gate at Cahir Castle. There are several theories as to the meaning of these man made grooves. One is that people collected stone dust from powerful buildings to use in folk medicine or magic. This is the most secured gate of the castle, ergo the most powerful, following that theory.
