English: Engraving published in "The History and Antiquities of Glamorganshire and its Families" by Thomas Nicholas (1874), frontispiece. Original caption: "Caerphilly Castle (from a photograph by Collings). GRIFFITHS AND WATSON". Presumably Griffiths and Watson were the engravers. The original photographer could have been W. J. Collings of 47 Bute Street, Cardiff, who took photographs of Caerphilly Castle at around this time which are now in Cardiff Library [1]. |
