| Description |
English: Photo is from the summit of Cadillac Mountain, in Acadia National Park. Cadillac Mountain is the highest point on the East Coast and is supposed to be the place where the sunrise is first visible in the United States.
Watching the sunrise from Cadillac was a moving experience, it's quite popular and often foggy so on clear days there's a lot of people heading up the mountain to see it, and it doesn't disappoint. Cadillac commands ocean views in multiple directions and on this morning all were shifting fields of fog and clouds, with ships and marker lights moving in and out until at the appointed time the sun starts peeking over the eastern horizon, igniting the clouds and eliciting cheers from the crowd. The foreground is Mount Dorr, Cadllac's neighbor. |
