Description
Español: Son cactus columnares, aunque cuando son muy grandes se podría decir que son del tipo arbustivo-arbóreo. Alcanzan una altura de hasta 15 metros y sus tallos verticales un tamaño que supera los 5 metros. En parte se caracterizan porque sus tallos son cilíndricos, segmentados y alargados con estrías angulosas. En sus aristas, que van desde la base hasta su extremo superior en los tallos, se disponen las areolas que es de donde salen las espinas, las cuales pueden medir entre 5 y 7 centímetros de largo.
