Description
Français : Reproduction du cachet de Blaise Pascal représentant un ciel enfermé dans une couronne d’épines, avec ces mots : "Scio cui credidi", empruntés à St Paul, II Tim. I, 12. D'après les Mémoires de Nicolas Fontaines, Pascal le fait graver après le "miracle de la Sainte-Epine" en 1656. Ce cachet de cire aurait été donné à l'archevêché de Reims par le libraire janséniste Savoye d'après Augustin Gazier. Il a été reproduit en 1909 pour le livre de Gazier Port-Royal au XVIIe siècle, planche 129. Il aurait été perdu pendant la guerre d'après le catalogue d'exposition de 1966 à la Bibliothèque nationale de France (n° 384, page 87 ; reproduit en 4e de couverture).
