Неизвестный художник середины XIX века

Кабинет в доме князя Долгорукова в Москве

Своеобразно убранство кабинета с драпировками и кинжалами на стенах и письменным столом, покрытым ковром. Вероятно, в подобном декоре нашли выражение романтические вкусы хозяина кабинета. Картина передает впечатление уюта и непринужденности: этому способствуют и небольшие размеры кабинета, домашний халат хозяина и фигуры детей, расположившихся здесь же. На стене висит портрет предка хозяина — сенатора князя Якова Долгорукова (овал), знаменитого своим гражданским мужеством и неподкупностью: в присутствии Петра 1 он публично разорвал указ императора, казавшийся ему несправедливым.
