- Cabeça-retrato de uma jovem mulher, bem modelada, de traços expressivos e grande naturalidade. Tem o nariz fragmentado e pequenas falhas na superfície do queixo e do pescoço. É um bom retrato, realista, de feições correctas, tecnicamente bem executado, boca ligeiramente torcida, de lábios salientes e nariz arrebitado, mostrando secura e decisão. Ostenta um característico penteado em "ninho de vespa", a testa curta quase desaparece sob o diadema formado por uma cadeia tripla de caracóis sobrepostos, que as damas romanas mandavam armar sobre uma rede de fio ou de metal, e na parte anterior da cabeça uma mecha de cabelo enrosca-se em largo carrapito sobre a nuca descobrindo as orelhas. A moda deste penteado foi criada por Júlia, filha de Tito e esposa de Domiciano, no período flaviano, tratando-se talvez mesmo de um retrato da própria imperatriz. Esta escultura terá feito parte de um busto ou mesmo de uma estátua hoje desaparecidos. (Segundo ficha do Catálogo de Escultura Romana do MNA, da autoria de José Luis de Matos). Proveniente da villa romana de Milreu, este retrato espelha da melhor forma a riqueza, importância e a plena actualidade e inserção sócio-política das elites municipais da Lusitânia meridional em finais do século I - inícios do século II d.C., adoptando posturas e modas estereotipadas de evidente prestígio pela sua conotação com a casa imperial.
