English: Cabbage and Sandy Soil. This newly planted field of (presumably) cabbages are growing in remarkably sandy soil. Directly behind the photographer is the start of the huge Penhale Sands dune complex, which is the reason for the sandy soil here. The low wire fence is to protect the new plants against rabbits, standard practice in Cornwall. |
