Summary
[edit]DescriptionCSS Colonel Lamb (1862) (50991705898).jpg | A model of the 1,800 ton Confederate paddle steamer blockade runner CSS Colonel Lamb, built by Jones Quiggin, Liverpool in 1862 at the Science Museum, South Kensington, 14 April 2007. Liverpool specialised in building for fast blockade runners for the Confederate Navy and private companies during the American Civil War since the Lancashire cotton industry depended so much on cotton supplies from the American South. The Colonel Lamb was a privately owned and it blew up on the Mersey in 1865. |
