Summary

English: CSIRO first started conducting research at the Gatton, Queensland site, location of the Cooper Laboratory, in 1936. Basic pasture introduction and breeding began at Gatton looking at pasture and animal production in a sub-tropical environment. Since then, a diverse range of research has been conducted at Gatton including cattle and sheep nutrition, woodland ecology for improved grazing potential, cultivated crops like soybean, mungbean, chickpeas and sorghum, and computer simulation models of crop production. |
