Description S83-37627 (26 July 1983) --- Dr. William E. Thornton, right, and Guion S. Bluford both mission specialists for STS-8, demonstrate an on-orbit experiment in the Johnson Space Center's one-g trainer for the Shuttle orbiter. The treadmill device was designed by Dr. Thornton and has been used on previous spaceflights. The third Challenger mission has been scheduled for late August and early September of this year. This photograph was taken by Otis Imboden.
