WEEKLY BULLETIN 81 ENGLANDS TRADE WITH FRANCE. The mutual commercial interchange between France and England has increasedsince the war began to over three times what it was previously. This increase, it isclaimed by the British Export Gazette, is not wholly due to war supplies. In fact,Trance has had to find other sources of supply for the nearly £50,000,000 worth ofgoods formerly purchased from enemy countries. With the pronounced preference inFrance for British commodities at the present time, Canadian manufacturers alsoshould be able to export increasingly to that country and play their part in the com-mercial expansiveness now taking place in Anglo-French trade. THE HUGE INCREASE IN ANGLO-FRENCH TRADE. To appreciate this statement at its full value, it is necessary to grasp some of thedetails of the positions prior to the war and what it is to-day.
