Description
English: Wayang kulit figure, representing Pangeran Mangkubumi and his kris
Nederlands: Schaduwfiguur (onderdeel). Wayang perjuangan heeft de politieke verwikkelingen in de strijd tussen de Nederlandse koloniale overheid en de bevolking van Java tot onderwerp. Dit is Prins Mangkubumi die zich in 1829 overgaf aan de Nederlanders. Hij was de oom van Prins Dipanegara. (Ricklefs, 2008)

Wayang perjuangan is a shadow play about political entanglement and the fight between the Dutch Colonial government and the people of Java. Represented here is Pangeran (prince) Mangkubumi who surrendered to the Dutch in September 1829. He is the uncle of prince Diponegoro, the leader of the people of Java. (Ricklefs, 2008)
