English: Fishermen with a proa at the beach, Wijnkoops Bay
Nederlands: Repronegatief. Visserij was langs Java's zuidkust beduidend minder populair dan langs de noordkust. Het water van de Indische Oceaan is veel dieper dan dat van de Java Zee en men was beducht voor de verraderlijke stromingen. Vlak langs de kust werd er echter wel gevist, bijvoorbeeld voor het maken van trasi (nu terasi), een sterk riekende substantie die bijvoorbeeld voor sambal goreng gebruikt wordt.
