Nederlands: Repronegatief. De Billiton Maatschappij, die op het eiland Billiton tinmijnen exploiteerde, had in 1885 vanuit Manggar een smalspoorlijntje gelegd voor een stoomtram. Dit lijntje werd onder meer gebruikt om brandhout te transporteren dat nodig was voor de machinale ontginning van de ertslagen. Sommige machines verstookten nog geen steenkool (dat toen vrij zeldzaam was), maar hout. In verband met de grote houtbehoefte van de Billiton Maatschappij was Billiton in 1909 de enige regio van Sumatra met een bosopziener van de Dienst van het Boschwezen. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
