Nederlands: Repronegatief. Met de komst van de Portugezen naar de Molukken in de 16e eeuw, was hier ook de bekering tot het katholicisme begonnen. Na 1600 werd dit echter weer grotendeels tenietgedaan, doordat de VOC predikanten en onderwijzers op deze verse katholieken losliet. In feite moest de rk missie rond 1900 hier weer opnieuw beginnen. Een van de eerste nieuwe vestigingen in de Molukken was op de Kei Eilanden. Op de foto de jonge bekeerlingen met hun nieuwe voornamen op een leitje geschreven (Dionisius, Frans). Zouden ze daarbij zelf de griffel (Frans houdt er een in zijn hand) gehanteerd hebben of heeft de meester-missionaris dat gedaan? (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
