Nederlands: Repronegatief. In de Indonesische Archipel komen zo'n 45 soorten haaien voor. Ze spraken en spreken sterk tot de verbeelding, zeker de meer spectaculaire soorten zoals op de foto afgebeeld. Naast tijger en krokodil behoorde de haai ongetwijfeld tot de groep der meest gevreesde dieren. De grotere soorten en exemplaren waren de krokodil trouwens de baas. Vlees van haaien wordt gegeten en de bekende haaienvinnen speelden een rol in de handel met China (net als eetbare vogelnestjes en zeekomkommers). (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
