Description |
Nederlands: De Fulani zijn rondtrekkende veehouders. De vrouwen dragen op een gewonden doek twee gestapelde kalebasschalen met allerlei huisraad met zich mee. Het kind krijgt de borst.
De opname is gemaakt tijdens één van de twee verzamelexpedities die het Tropenmuseum in 1970-1971 ondernam ter voorbereiding op de grote tentoonstelling in 1971-1972, getiteld 'Samo. Een Afrikaans Savannevolk in ontwikkeling'. De expedities duurden elk drie maanden en werden uitgevoerd door de heren J.T. Broekhuijse en F.M. Cowan. Deze vrouwen staan ook afgebeeld op een groepsfoto in de catalogus bij de hierboven genoemde tentoonstelling met het bijschrift 'Vrouwen van de Peul, rondtrekkende veehouders' (1971: 24). |
