Nederlands: Portret van een Samo vrouw. De opname is gemaakt tijdens één van de twee verzamelexpedities die het Tropenmuseum in 1970-1971 ondernam ter voorbereiding op de grote tentoonstelling in 1971-1972, getiteld 'Samo. Een Afrikaans Savannevolk in ontwikkeling'. De expedities duurden elk drie maanden en werden uitgevoerd door de heren J.T. Broekhuijse en F.M. Cowan. Een portret van deze vrouw staat ook afgebeeld in de catalogus bij de hierboven genoemde tentoonstelling met het bijschrift 'Samomeisje' (1971: 30 en 31).
English: Portrait of a Samo woman. The photo was made during one of two collecting expeditions the former Tropenmuseum Amsterdam (since 2023 Wereldmuseum Amsterdam) undertook in 1970-1971 in preparation for its major exhibition in 1971-1972, entitled 'Samo. An African Savannah people in development'. The expeditions lasted three months each and were conducted by Messrs. J.T. Broekhuijse and F.M. Cowan. A portrait of this woman is also shown in the catalog accompanying the exhibition mentioned above with the caption 'Samo girl' (1971: 30 and 31).
