Nederlands: Aan de onderzijde van de houder staat een Arabische inscriptie met de volgende tekst: "Moge God zijn dienaren bijstaan / in het jaar 1266 / de meester (mu'allem) / Mohammed ben Mohammed / Moge God zijn zonden vergeven." De laatste regel is niet vertaald.
Het jaar 1266 duidt op islamitische jaartelling, hetgeen correspondeert met 1849 of 1850 A.D. De houder wordt gebruikt als opberg- en draagkoker voor kruit (baroed) dat bestemd is voor geweren voor jacht of oorlog. |
