Nederlands: De zetel is bestemd voor vrouwen. Dit type is voor een vrouw uit het volk. Belangrijke vrouwen hadden zetels versierd met koperen nageltjes.
De uitsparing in het zitgedeelte diende om er een band door te trekken waaraan de zetel kon worden meegevoerd. De band werd over het voorhoofd geslagen, de zetel steunde dan tegen de bovenkant van de rug. Vooraanstaande vrouwen lieten hun zetel door een helpster dragen (Burssens 1992: 23) Stoelen voor vrouwen zijn doorgaans lager en minder versierd dan die van mannen in dezelfde rang. |
