Nederlands: Hoofddoek of shawl voor vrouwen. Het centrale motief op het doek is een afbeelding van de Grote Moskee van Mekka met bedevaartgangers. De Arabische tekst geeft de naam van de stad weer. Bovenaan staat "het edele Mekka" (Makka al-mukarrama), gevolgd door onder "gezicht op de verheven Ka'aba" (manzar al-ka'aba al-musharafa). De handjes met een oog in de brede witte rand stellen het handje van Fatima voor (magische bescherming tegen het boze oog). Ook de schorpioenen en slangen die bij de handjes zijn afgebeeld bieden afweer tegen het kwaad. Tussen de handjes van Fatima zijn twee verschillende heiligdommen binnen het moskeecomplex afgebeeld: aan weerszijden de maqam Ibrahim, waar een afdruk van de voetstappen van Ibrahim is te zien. In het midden de zwarte steen van de Ka'aba en een pelgrim met parasol. |
