Nederlands: foto. Deze foto komt uit een album over een tocht naar de vulkaan de Smeroe op Oost-Java. De tocht werd gemaakt van 15 tot 18 september 1916. Eerst met de trein van Soerabaia naar Pasoeroean en daarna met de auto naar Tosari. Vandaar ging het te paard verder naar Ngadiwono (1900 meter hoogte). Van hieruit werd de Smeroe-tocht ondernomen.
De tocht werd gemaakt door vier heren. Bij deze foto staat '.. na een afscheidsgroet aan het schitterende meer Ranoe Koembala'. Dit meer ligt op een hoogte van 2410 m. Op de volgende foto liggen twee vermoeide bergwandelaars in het hoge gras: '...tegen drie uur in den middag bereikten we Radjapada (de voet van den aschkegel). fotograaf: waarschijnlijk Dhr. Kerchman
