Description |
Nederlands: Oorspronkelijk maakten de donker bruine steentjes deel uit van het Abbia spel. Het spel was geen behendigheidsspel, maar een gokspel, te vergelijken met het gooien van dobbelstenen.
De spelers moesten hun eigen steentjes maken, maar dit gebeurt lang niet altijd. De steentjes zijn ook niet kant en klaar te koop, omdat het maken van de steentjes niet als zelfstandig beroep uitgeoefend werd. Soms, als een speler alles in zijn bezit verloren had, verkocht hij z'n steentjes. Op de stenen werden meestal een drietal objectsoorten afgebeeld: voorwerpen, levende wezens en bovennatuurlijke wezens. De tweede groep van levende wezens werd het meest afgebeeld. In het spel hadden de afbeeldingen geen functie, ze lijken alleen als ornament gediend te hebben. |
