Nederlands: Kussen. In Palembang is het kantklossen een deel van de inheemse kunstnijverheid geworden. Het is waarschijnlijk ter plaatse via het onderwijs van Europese nonnen geïntroduceerd. Een aantal doeken van Palembang wordt omrand met kantwerk van goud- of zilverdraad. Ook wit katoenen kant komt voor. Het is een mooi voorbeeld van wisselwerking als twee verschillende culturen met elkaar in aanraking komen.
Het snijwerk en de kleuren vertonen Chinese en West Aziatische invloed. De lotusbloem motieven op de pootjes zijn waarschijnlijk van Boeddhistische oorsprong. De boogpatronen op de randen zijn waarschijnlijk ontleend aan de islamitische gebedsnis. De rood, goud en zwarte kleuren zijn typisch voor Palembang. . Fluwelen kantkloskussen uit Palembang |
