Nederlands: Negatief. In 1920 woonden er op het eiland Celebes ongeveer 5.500 Europeanen. In 1930 was dat toegenomen tot 7.000. Dat was weliswaar iets meer dan op Borneo (5.000 in 1930), maar aanzienlijk minder dan op Sumatra en slechts een fractie van de Europese bevolking van Java. De overgrote meerderheid van alle Europeanen op Celebes woonde in de twee 'grote' steden Manado en Makassar (bijna 5.000). Aangezien er op Celebes niet veel cultuurondernemingen (plantages) waren, waren de Europeanen op het 'platteland' nauwelijks aanwezig.
