Nederlands: Repronegatief. Tot het complex van de traditionele geneeswijze behoort ook de tukang of dukun pijit, oftewel de masseuse. Deze doorgaans vrouwelijke expertise wordt vaak van moeder op dochter overgedragen. Ook Europeanen waren vaak enthousiaste klanten van deze masseuses. Tenminste zo bekend en belangrijk was de dukun bayi, de traditionele vroedvrouw. Volgens de meeste Westerse medici waren deze vroedvrouwen een gevaar voor de gezondheid van moeder en kind als er bij een bevalling complicaties optraden. Bij ongecompliceerde bevallingen, het merendeel van de gevallen, was er op de lokale vroedvrouw minder aan te merken. (P. Boomgaard, 2001). Een vrouw krijgt een 'pidjit', een inlandse massage |
