Nederlands: Negatief. In 1933 waren 'rust en orde' in Atjeh weer even voor korte tijd verstoord geweest, zodat er nog jaren daarna intensief 'met klewang en karabijn' gepatrouilleerd werd. Verder waren de jaren dertig voor Atjeh echter geen slechte tijd geweest, ondanks de mondiale economische depressie. Juist om de 'pacificatie' van het gebied te verdiepen stimuleerde de koloniale overheid de vestiging van Westerse ondernemingen in Atjeh. Daarmee vormde deze streek de noordelijke uitloper vormde van het plantagegebied van Sumatra's Oostkust. Ook werd er naar olie geboord. De meeste economische groei kwam echter van commerciële gewassen van kleine boeren, zoals peper, rubber en kopra. De controleur, die nu met de auto tourneerde, schijnt militaire assistentie niet meer nodig gevonden te hebben. (P. Boomgaard, 2001). Een Europese controleur met zijn auto op tournee in Atjeh.
