Nederlands: Foto. Trek op de kaart een rechte lijn van het Diëng plateau in zuidoostelijke richting naar de Borobudur en verleng die lijn vervolgens wederom in zuidoostelijke richting. Daar ligt het Prambanan-complex, ook wel Loro Jonggrang-complex geheten. Men spreekt tevens, minder gelukkig, van de Prambanan tempel, maar het gaat om een groot terrein met vele tempels. Het is het grootste Hindoeïstische tempelcomplex van de Archipel, waarvan de bouw vermoedelijk begon rond 850 A.D. Iets dus later dan die van de Borobudur. Europeanen zagen de ruïnes voor het eerst in de 18e eeuw. Ir. IJzerman begon in 1885 met het opruimen van het puin en in 1918 startte P.J. Perquin met de restauratie. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
