Nederlands: Het exacte gebruik van dit type beeld is nog niet duidelijk. Dit exemplaar maakt deel uit van een archeologische vondst in Noord-Ghana. Kröger (1988) heeft een typologie op grond van de vorm van deze beelden gemaakt, dit exempaar is lastig naar type in te delen, komt meest overeen met type II, menselijk beeld. Het beeld kan niet los staan en is van onderen zwart gekleurd. Volgens dhr. R.M.A. Bedaux heeft het beeld zeer waarschijnlijk gedurende langere tijd met het licht gekleurde gedeelte in de grond gezeten. Het zwarte deel stak boven de grond uit. Daaroverheen heeft zand-erosie plaats gevonden en zijn waarschijnlijk, na de oogsten, bush-fires (feu de brousse) eroverheen gegaan (zie opmerking 1).

Anquandah (n.d.: 31) schrijft over de archeologische vondst: "The terra cotta art of Komaland appears to be unique in Africa. It seems to be the work of skilled traditional craftsmen with an aesthetic sensitivity. Although, their goal was evidently naturalistic sculpture, they only partially succeeded in this since there is much that is stylised in it...the art certainly has a strong symbolic element in it. Many human figures appear to wear hats with cowries in the top centre. Others depict cowry shells placed in their mouths, on their genital organs and on other parts of the body (symbolising fertility or wealth). Some terra cottas represent human figures with elaborate regalia or ornamental decoration, in the form of bracelets, anklets, and necklaces. The tendency to depict double figures side by side, or back to back, and multiple figures all in one piece seems to suggest social solidarity in the society of the artists".

Datering van de vondsten bij de Koma wijst in de richting van de 16e eeuw. Anquandah (n.d.: 31) schrijft erover: "It has been possible so far to obtain one absolute date from a surface find. A sample of terra cotta from Yikpabongo was submitted to the Max-Planck Institut für Kernphysik at Heidelberg, W. Germany for dating by the thermoluminescence method. The laboratory gave a date of AD 1579=135 (K414). Further samples from the actual excavations have been submitted for dating by thermoluminescence and radiocarbon. The results should shed further light on the stone circle complex."

Tot nu toe lijken de beschikbare gegevens er op te wijzen dat we hier met de ontdekking van een nieuwe 'beschaving' te maken hebben.
