Nederlands: Repronegatief. (P. Boomgaard, 2001). 'Inlandsch Hospitaal' van de Suiker Fabriek Gending, Oost-Java Inlands hospitaal suikerfabriek Gending, Oost-Java, ca. 1925
English: Plantations in the past and present have in many a bad reputation in the field of industrial relations. In the sugar plantations in Java that was not the main point of criticism. In the eyes of the critics it was the low land rent paid and the possible involuntary nature of the temporary surrender of land by the farmers. When working on the plantation should be a distinction between the permanent workers in the factory and the temporary 'campaign workers, or loose the forces that the ground edited and cut the reeds. The permanent employees of the sugar formed in many ways an elite of workers, for that time and place, good wages and facilities, including the hospital affiliated to the factory. (P. Orchard, 2001).
