Description |
English: A probable silver half groat of Edward IV (reign 1461-1470 – 1471-1483). Obverse: Crowned bust facing with quatrefoils within a tressure of nine arches. Sun mintmark. The legend is partially truncated but ‘EDWARD’ is legible. Reverse: Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets within each quadrant. The inner inscription reads CIVI / TAS / CAN / TOR Indicating the coin was minted in Canterbury.
