English:

A very worn, copper alloy Roman sestertius of Commodus as Caesar (AD 175-180); possibly dating to AD 175-176; (Reece Period 9).  SPES PVBLICA reverse type, depicting Spes walking left, holding flower and lifting skirt. Mint Rome.  As RIC III, page, 335; No: 1530. The coin is is dark brown in colour.

Measurements: 29mm in diameter, 4mm thick and 19.4g in weight
