Description

The U.S. Army Concert Band and Downrange celebrated the Army's 242nd birthday on Thursday, June 15 at the U.S. Capitol. The program included an Army Streamer Ceremony in which the audience learned the story behind all 189 battle streamers awarded to the Army dating back to 1775, with the Concert Band performing as the story unfolded. Sgt. Maj. Paul Biggs, Military District of Washington Command Sergeant Major, and Sgt. Maj. Dan Smith, "Pershing's Own" Command Sergeant Major, pinned the streamers to the Army flag with the assistance of Soldiers from the 3D US Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard).
