Description A U.S. Marine Corps Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter Marine Medium Helicopter Transport Squadron HMM-466, home based at Marine Corps Air Station Tustin, California (USA), in flight over the coast of Southern California in support of "Exercise Kernel Blitz '97". "Kernel Blitz" was a biannual Pacific Fleet training exercise focused on operational/tactical training of Commander, Third Fleet/I Marine Expeditionary Forces) and Commander, Amphibious Group 3/1st Marine Division. "Kernel Blitz" was designed to enhance the training of brigade-size amphibious assault operations.
