Description
English:

A complete cast copper-alloy casket key of medieval date, c. AD 1150 - 1450. The key is small with an ovate cross section. A lozenge bow with circular aperture extends from one end of the stem while the opposite end of the stem tapers to a worn point. A bit projects out at 90 degrees to the stem. Similar keys are illustrated in Egan (1998), p.112, fig.86.
