Farmers would not have to carry only their equipment and produce but also some animals especially if they are being taken over to the market to be sold. Such carts would have a collapsible box in which to keep the animals which need not be goats but may be any farm animal which needed to be transported. Goats were a common sight in the villages but today it is very rare to see herders with a herd of goats due to traffic congestion which would result from an unruly herd of goats crossing the road.
