Description
English: SOUTH CHINA SEA (June 23, 2009) Cpl. Andrew Walker of the 24th Marine Regiment explains the operation of the Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) to soldiers from the 9th Royal Malay Regiment in the well deck of the dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49). Malaysian service members toured Harpers Ferry during the first day of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2009. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces.
