| Description |
Español: Uno de los espacios más tradicionales de Viña del Mar es el compuesto por las actuales calles Viana y Álvarez. Estas forman parte de las vías más antiguas de la comuna y por más de 100 años estuvieron bordeando la línea férrea del tren que inicialmente unía Valparaíso y Santiago. El desarrollo urbano estuvo por lo tanto determinado por este trazado que dejaba separadas ambas calles por un terraplén. Para subsanar en parte este inconveniente, en la sesión del 9 de noviembre de 1929, se expuso en la Junta Pro Balneario la necesidad de crear un paso bajo nivel para el cruce vehicular en las intersecciones de las calles Traslaviña y Ecuador.
