Español: Nicolás Calcagni.
Español: Nicolás Calcagni nació en Junín el 21 de septiembre de 1927. Cursó sus estudios primarios en las escuelas Nº 12 y Nº 2, y luego los secundarios en la entonces llamada Escuela de Artes y Oficios.

Se graduó como subteniente en el Colegio Militar de la Nación. En junio de 1952, con 24 años de edad, ingresó a la Escuela de Tropas Aerotransportadas, donde llegó a ser abanderado. Efectuó su primer salto con paracaídas el 25 de septiembre de ese mismo año.

En 1954 Calcagni realizaría una memorable hazaña, batiendo dos récords mundiales de paracaidismo. En el atardecer del domingo 11 de abril de 1954, comenzó con una serie de saltos en la escuela de Tropas Aerotransportadas, finalizando el lunes al mediodía. Totalizó 163 saltos en 17 horas, batiendo el récord mundial vigente hasta ese momento, de 142. Además, 105 de los saltos fueron nocturnos, batiendo también ese récord mundial, cuya marca era de 37.
