The advertisement at the end is for “The Library of English Prose” This is volume II.

The rectangular bookplate of Robin de Beaumont is on the upper endpaper verso. He has noted: ‘Joan Barton Salisbury 1.9.83 [no price]’. Glassine dust jacket, plain, no printing, with damage to its spine. The top edge is gilt; deckled foredge and tail. Red patterns on endpapers and pastedowns – the same as for C188a754a. ‘Japanese vellum’ covers and spine. The Foulis monogram is on the centre of the lower cover. The upper cover has a green rule to borders. There are ‘plant motif’ in gold and in green, ‘art nouveau’ style. These decorations are repeated on the spine. The title is in gilt at the head: “/Last/ Essays/ of Elia/ Charles/ Lamb/”. At the head of the spine, the title letters are in gilt: “/Last/ Essays/ of/ Elia/ Charles/ Lamb/ Foulis [at tail]/”. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust. Another copy of this work is at British Library shelf mark C188a754a; and C188a755 and 01223e14/8
